As a Senior Backend Engineer at Glover, a leading Nigerian Fintech, I played a pivotal role in optimizing and securing the platform which offers services ranging from gift card trading to crypto payments. I led the migration of the legacy codebase from Laravel v7 to v12 with zero downtime, significantly boosting system performance and maintainability. My work focused on high-impact features including a custom login security system with anomaly detection, a high-speed rewards distribution engine, and a Google OCR-powered gift card validation system utilizing encryption for data security. I also architected a comprehensive Brand Ambassador dashboard and a fraud-resistant customer reward system, directly contributing to increased user engagement and platform trust.

Glover is a digital marketplace enabling users to trade gift cards, airtime, and digital assets.

Key Responsibilities:

•Developed a security log system to monitor and audit user activities.
•Implemented an OCR-powered system to detect and prevent duplicate gift card sales.
•Built an integration layer with Freshdesk to manage user complaints via ticketing, improving user retention and customer support resolution times.
•Contributed to the development of an automated airtime-to-cash conversion platform.
•Enhanced the security and performance of the Giftcard system.
•Built and maintained multiple promotional systems, including: Ambassador programme, Customer rewards, Referral system, Marketing promo engine, Spin-the-wheel game, and Voucher issuance.
•Helped build an in-house reward currency tied to user milestones and engagement.
•Optimised and upgraded the bill payment infrastructure for better reliability.
